What a nice thing to plan for your wife's birthday Kenny.

Why not ask a clerk at the store to read the instructions with you,
going over each step. That way too you can be sure you have all the
ingredients. Take notes. Don't be shy.

Then, yes, you can put whipping cream on top of a cake. That would be
the simplest and most delicious choice. You could also buy some
strawberries. cut them in half and place them on top of the whipped
cream decorated cake. Or, you can leave the cake undecorated, and serve
the whipped cream and strawberries in separate bowls for each person to
serve themselves with a bit of each beside their slice of cake.

{I think I just talked myself into cake, whipped cream and
strawberries. First thing tomorrow morning.}
