The boxes even have pictures on the back of the ingredients you will
be using (3 eggs grouped together, oil in a cup, etc.) What would
possess you not to read the instructions?? By all means, buy a
cookbook and follow it exactly until you master the recipes. (And
this is advice from someone who is no great shakes when it comes to
backing, but can turn out wonderful cake mix cakes!)
