I knew someone would ask. The best grinder I ever had was a
table-sized one bought about 30 years ago. I still have it,
and the matching salt shaker. The grinder mechanism is
engraved "Verity-Southall, El Segundo, CA." Much of the
black finish is worn off and it's terrible looking. The
screw threads are now quite worn, but it still is OK for
cooking.
