Jim, I was at Callahans (in Mira Mesa), my favorite hangout and popular
sports bar, today. Oddly enough, most people were eating cold weather foods:
N.E. clam chowder, chili, etc. The burgers and such were not at all popular.
Nor were the "Irish" dishes. The only thing I saw a lot of was the
waffle-cut fries. Half the TVs were set to the Louisiana game (very noisy
fans) and the others, including the big plasma, had the TX-A&M game (not
quite as noisy). I could not get any enthusiasm going for either. (Q: A is
agriculture, but what is the M for? Perhaps mining?) No turkey on the menu
today!

Do you ever get to Mira Mesa? I make the loooooong trip up there at least
once a week. Suzan, are you here? How about you? I'd love to introduce you
to Callahan's! It has been my hangout for many, many years. I've watched
many of the people there grow up and they have been very kind to me in my
deepest times of trouble and depression. I am free next Saturday if that
works. Suzan, I can give you a ride up if you like. I'll need to wash my
Lincoln beforehand if you are going. <smile>
