Hawaiian 'Sushi' comes to NYC
I was down by south Street Seaport today and say a new takeout place- L&L
Hawaiian Barbeque. From their promotional literature, it seems they're
considered to be one of the best restaurant chains in the Islands. One of
the items on the menu is misubi- Hawaiian-style sushi. I had the Spam
misubi, which consisted of two very large beds of rice with teriyaki suace
on the top of each, and then pieces of Spam. Each piece was wrapped by wide
pieces of nori.
Did it taste like sushi? Kinda. Was it good? It depends on how much you love
Spam. It thought it was interesting, but I wouldn't rush to have it again.
