That seems to be how it is used in UK hotels, in my experience. It is
tasty.
Boudin Noir is a french bistro sausage that can also be very tasty. It
is not the same as black pudding in spite of the obvious linguistic
connection. Usually cooked and served in links. Has onion in it and
otherwise different seasonings.
You will probably find a vague equivalent in any culture that
slaughters pigs. Why throw something as good as that away?
