Ahh.. Brings back memories. There used to be a wonderful local ma/pa
italian market and deli near where I worked in the 60s and early 70's.
They had the best subs I ever ate. They closed th market in the late
70's but due to the popularity of the subs, they sold the sub shop as
a franchise. The food was not the same under the new owners. compared
to the original owners food, I couldn't eat the new subs. They were
completely different. Still, the food was better than most fast food
and, even if the old patrons no longer could eat it, the new owners
made good business from new patrons who had never tasted the original
owners subs.
I have yet to find a sub shop that matches the food at that Italian
market and deli.
