Well, somehow elegant and practical seem nearly mutually exclusive to
me. Maybe not. There are placemats all over creation -- Linens 'n'
Things, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Target, Kohl's, JC Penney, Sears,
Williams-Sonoma, Sur la Table, Macy's, Marshall Field's. You'll have a
zillion selections from which to choose. I wouldn't pay more than $8
for one, but that's me. You could easily spend $50 on placemats and
napkins for four places. Napkins don't have to be the same as the mats.
