Uptons or Culinary tea?
Hi,
I usually buy my tea through Special Teas, (and previously--Adagio), but I
would like to try some teas not available through that company. I like
black teas for the most part and am considering several breakfast blends and
a Keemun. My last batch of Earl Grey and Special Grade Keemun faded to
stale rather quickly for 4 oz bags. In fact the broken leaf Keemun wasn't
as powerful as the first bag I bought. I would like to know if anyone has
experience with Culinary Teas? There are some breakfast or traditional
blend samplers I'd like to try along with the Keemun Panda #1 and the Lady
Londerry or Prince of Wales. I'm particularly interested in trying the
Scottish Breakfast and the Canadian Breakfast--they're included in the
sampler I may order. The last time I had a Lady Londonderry was 8 years ago
and it was only available from Jackson's Of Piccadilly. So if anyone has
tried it from Culinary Teas, I would like your feedback. I'm going to buy
my tea in tins this time in an attempt to keep them fresher longer--taking
into consideration that the stock is fresh to begin with.
I've heard that Uptons is reliable. However, their sampler of blended teas
wasn't as tempting and more expensive. I realize that Culinary Teas is a
smaller company so I'm concerned about the tea being fresh. If you have any
feedback on this, please let me know!
Thanks,
Renee
