Soft Sugar Cookies

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream

Ream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time,beating well. Add
vanilla, beat until light and fluffy. Mixand sift flour, salt, baking powder
and baking soda. Add tocreamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Drop on
greasedcookie sheet, flatten, sprinkle with favorite topping orsprinkles.
Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes. Variations: Topwith Cinnamon and sugar, or
add 2 squares chocolate melted,or add 1 cup seedless raisins, or 1 cup
chopped cherries (canfrost with cherry frosting), or add 1-1/2 cup M&M’s.(contributed
