Every time I get the slightest sniff that UPSDHLFedex won't be
able to get the package into my hands in a seamless manner, I
call and tell them to "hold for pickup".

Probably adds $100 of my labor to the effective cost of
a $20 service, but I've yet to miss an important package
that way.

In fact, barring a second day of Ohio-snow plane problems,
I'll be snagging one tomorrow that had originally been
addressed to my office.
