If it's what I think it is, it doesn't come apart.

There is the oval tube that is molded into the lid. That is just open. You
place the food inside this tube, then fit the 2 piece part described below
over it, lock it in place, and turn on the machine.

Then there is the part that fits into the oval tube that is molded into the
lid. It consists of two parts. And outer tube and and an inner piece. The
inner moves up and down inside the outer tube. Is that the part that you
are talking about? And the outer tube has a piece of plastic that fits into
a slot on the lid so it locks in place and allows the motor to work. Right?

If that's the piece you are talking about, no, it does not come apart.

Just soak it in hot soapy water, it has openings for the water to go through
to all areas in it. Then rinse in hot water and let air dry. Or if you have
a dishwasher, it can be done in there.
