Default Lunch for the kid's birthday

It's my stepson's birthday today. We can't do a proper Danish lunch
on sich short notice but we'll come close for eight persons:

slices of pork roast
slices of smoked ham
potato salad
egg salad
sliced eggs (I cooked a dozen yesterday so I can do both)
various ptés
breads of different sorts: black rye, baguettes, bagels (don't ask, I
couldn't get a straight answer on that one either)
various cheeses: friulano, boursin, 2 year old cheddar
pickled cucumber slices
cucumber salad

and a cake of some sort (I'm not in on that), obviously.

Some of the guests, not me, will proceed from this function to the
christening of a baby in my wife's family by a navy chaplain in a
local navy mess hall. Seems all a bit too uncertain for moi. I will
repair to the boudoir where I shall endeavour to start making my way
through Bondarchuk's War and Peace (in Russian with subtitles, of
course) and also reading my way through the compiled standard rules
for the La bataille series of wargames.

Yes, I'm still on holidays and will be on holidays until Jan 9th
inclusive.
