i have the 1050. after you put the bag in place & lock the top you just
press the button & it seals. some models you have to hold down the button.
it is also supposed to help to simmer the jar lids & dry them, supposed to
make the compound seal better. i just have a baggie full for when i need
them. the large lid sealer always works but there are issues with the
smaller one. putting a 2nd lid compound up on top of the sealing lid helps
the seal to take (makes it the correct depth or something) but sometimes no
matter what you do a jar & lid just won't work. try another lid first before
trying another jar. also i had no suction once, turned the hose around & it
worked fine. go figure, each end looks the same & there's nothing on mine
that says use this end in the machine.
