I wonder if I meant to say I'm slipping. Ya think? Jayzuzz, it took me
a longer while to figure out what you're talking about with the sliing.
.. . I thought you were referring to that evil poison known as
slivovice. Ever hear of another poison called Becherovka? B is
regarded as a "woman's drink" -- it's sweet and clove-flavored. It'll
also put you under the table if you're not careful. In 1990, I was
about four sheets to the wind and had to run for a train in Humenne,
Czechoslovakia. Oh, muther. To make it worse, Niece Jo was asleep in
the bunk above me but had put her fanny pack on a chair or something --
anyway, somehow I took it upon myself to make sure it was safe. She's
sawing logs and I'm keeping one eye open, while the train stopped in
every village between Humenne and Bratislava. Chug chug chug
screeeeeeech JOLT! Chug chug chug screeeeeeech JOLT! Then a woman
joined us at one of the stops and proceeded to peel off her clothes
right at my nose level. BO. Oboy. Chug chug chug chug screeeeeeeeeech
J O L T. Coulda killed Jo. Haven't had Becherovka since. OK, maybe a
couple times. Under supervision. Mama didn't raise no fool.
