Not to mention that you're in a sealed metal can when flying. Air
interchange isn't exactly high on the list of keeping a cabin
pressurized. A good chunk of the air is just re-circulated with small
amounts of fresh air added in occasionally.

That means that any viruses or germs floating around on one person will
more than likely be transmitted to others on the flight who have no
immunity to that particular bug.
