A good Welsh Rarebit needs beer, at least, according to the Joy of Cooking
recipe. And Frugal Gourmet has a recipe for beer carrots that's good - IIRC
you saute the carrots in butter then pour in a beer, a teaspoon of sugar,
some dill, some salt, and simmer until the liquid is gone.
