I also recommend the food processor. Unless I am making a large batch of
dough, I use my FP instead of the KitchenAid stand mixer. The FP is faster
and way less messy. Also, the FP will cost less and do more than a stand
mixer. I have both, but I got my FP before the stand mixer. Of course if
you make a lot of cakes or large batches of cookies, the mixer would get
more use. I think people should consider both appliances.
