Default unhardening brown sugar

The quickest way, if you need it for a recipe, is to
grate it with a box or flat grater.

It keeps quite well in a tightly sealed glass jar with
some type of moisture-holding item (slice of apple
or one of those terra cotta shapes you pre-soak in water.)
