It was probably cheap vodka. Good stuff has no taste to speak of. I wonder
why people drink it, except for the buzz.

Whiskey, OTOH, has a definite odor so I can understand you may not like it.
Cheap Scotch smells and tastes like iodine, but a good single malt can be
enjoyed by sipping.
