You don't need the book.

Step 1 go he

Step 2 Search "breadmaker"

Step 3 start reading.

Most breadmakers will make a 1 or 1.5 pound loaf and most of them operate
with only minor variations.

You'll need:
Bread flour (different protein value)
Yeast
Water
Sugar
Salt
non-fat dry milk
and some fat like butter.

The settings on the machine should be self explanatory and will match the
recipes you find.
