Default Ginger syrup?

I don't know if there's a commercial ginger syrup available. Howver,
it's not too hard to make your own. I made some very tasty ginger
syrup by peeling and cutting up some fresh ginger root, and steeping it
in a simple syrup of 1 half cup water and 1 half cup sugar over medium
low heat. It was quite adequate for my needs. Other cooks on this
forum may have more expertise on making homemade ginger syrup, though.
It has a surprising number of uses, and can be used a bit in savory as
well as sweet recipes.
