The onions add a little color to it, also.

I don't think it's very salty, but I've never eaten it other than in this
recipe.

Also, I googled for some other recipes, and I think I advised too much
milk. It's easy enough for most people to add more milk if it is too
thick, but most people won't have more cream cheese to add if it turns out
too thin.
