Matt's sister has a good foodie friend in the area who gave us a whole
list of recommendations... Of the nicer restaurants, we ate at
Piperade (a Basque restaurant, I belive?) and The Boulevard. He also
recommended some hole-in-the-wall taqueria whose name I have forgotten,
and I hate to say it, but the mini deep fried doughnuts at the tourist
trap on Fisherman's Wharf were shamefully good. The slightly cheesy
restaurant in Chinatown that is on the 11th or 12th floor of some
building (The Empress?) actually gave us a surprisingly good meal.
Iirc, it came out really hot - I like food that is steaming hot, just
seems to taste better right when it comes off of the heat. We also
ate a good tasting meal in Little Italy on a Friday or Saturday night,
but the service was SO BAD, it kind of ruined the experience.

Too bad...!

Oh. Right. I forgot. Granny Vic.
