Default Any info on a couple of stickies? Chateua La Bouade 2000 Sauternesand Montes Late Harvest Gerwurtztraminer / Riesling Botrytis 2002.

Hello,

I went into dans today as mentioned in a previous post to get a couple
of goodies for mother and father.

I actually was thinking of Brown Brothers Patricia 1999, but they only
had full bottles [750 ml] and they were $43AU. I thought about the De
Bortoli noble one, but I'd already got that as a gift. The Peter Lehmann
they hadn't drunk yet. The 3 Bridges they still have.

The guy came over and recommended the Peter Lehmann and a McWilliams, I
was a bit iffy on the McWilliams. So I thought how about something
international for a bit of excitment.

The French section was a bit poor on stickies range wise, but I ended up
getting the Chateua La Bouade sauternes 2000 for $17.95AU just for
something different.

After perusing the international section for a stickie German, Austrian
or even New Zealand, something in Chile caught my eye. $12.99AU. I
thought, why not? The worst that can happen is it will be awful.

So I got the Montes 2002 Late Harvest Gewurtztraminer / Riesling [I
think it was botrytis affected].

I got it home and on the back it said the previous vintage had won a big
French wine show medal of which 43 or something across all wines only
are awarded. I really should remember it, but it escapes me at the moment.

Anyway, enough of the colour. Does anyone have any notes etc on these?

I'm just curious as to what mother and father should expect. They've
shown a distinct predjudice against French and Chilean wine [believing
it to be poor quality] before.

Thanks very much,

Mat.
