Yes all of those things are very tasty. While I think at first this
American dislike started as a mixture 'thats not normal' during the
move to the cities during the first 2 decades of the 20th cent and
then became formalized during the Great Depression when for many
people /any/ food was a luxury but the farms were only producing the
big money makers like cows, and pigs.
So now pig, cow, chicken and turkey are the only things Americans eat
and as the years went by pigs started to be less fatty, chicken started
to taste more like cardboard and cows just got bigger and bigger.
In the end Americans relying on a diet of tasteless fast food now just
don't like flavor. As a result all of the good things you named above
are now seen as not just non-food items but when eaten taste 'funny'.
