It's really a shame that we can't easily get meats of most varieties that
aren't heavily processed with one thing or another these days. Most
supermarkets clearly don't carry much "pure" meat any longer. To some
extent we have actually cut back on how much meat we buy, in order that we
can go to one of two old-fashioned butcher shops in the area and know
exactly what we're getting for the money.

Just a block from my office is small privately-owned sasuage company that
began business in 1922. I've gotten to where I won't buy sausage anywhere
else, including luncheon meats.
