That's assuming the finger came from a live person. Maybe it didn't.
There have been some rumors that the finger came from a cadaver and
was added to the chili as a "joke". YUK! (Well YUK even if it came from
a live person.)

Maybe the products in the chili (meat?) came from an imported source
and was canned or frozen overseas. Some non-U.S. sources surely have
lower food standards than here.
