BOB,

I don't know if this would be of any help or interest to you, but I cut a
piece of "hardware cloth" (1/4-inch openings) the full size of my grill
surface. Before using it I brushed it with vegetable oil and fired it up
on the grill at high temp. Cooled it down, then repeated this
"seasoning" process 3-4 times. I find this works very well with numerous
small items, and I can also easily use a spatula for turning and
rearranging the food on the surface.
