Guess I ought to take pictures. ;-)
Back in the Texas Hill country, there are some very old and large
mesquites.
That is at ground level. The actual main trunk is only about 2 ft.
thick. I estimate it's hight at about 30 ft.
I'm SO glad that home builders in Texas tend to preserve the local trees
and not just randomly clear the site! :-)
I also have a cedar that is even taller, but the trunk is only about 18"
thick a few ft. up from the ground. I have to regularly prune it so it
does not touch my roof.
