Nowadays it's left to the individual to pick and choose and make
judgments about the information that pops up at the push of a Google
button. In the case of coconut oil, the sources that promote coconut
oil overwhelmingly come from people who are involved with selling it,
while the sources that caution against it come from the Food and Drug
Administration and other health science-related people. Laypeople like
me have to draw our own conclusions. I ain't gonna use it, either for
cooking or for any of the other claimed benefits from its purveyors.
