Never put oil in the pasta water. Use pleanty of water and good
quality, 100% Semolina pasta and you will never have a problem. As far
the pot boiling over. You can just put some oil on your finger tip and
run it around the top inner lip of the pot and it sill prevent(to some
degree) boiling over.
