It's my observation that 90% of automobile drivers don't have a clue how
their car works. I also observe that those 90% are often better (safer)
drivers. They are just interested in getting from point A to point B, not
in pushing their cars faster and harder.

It doesn't take brains, it takes specialized knowledge. Plus, AOL hides
these kind of details from people, on purpose. You don't need to know
this stuff to make quality posts on newsgroups.
