TZIMMIS
TZIMMIS
1-2 lbs stew meat, browned on all sides
2 medium onions, sliced 1 inch thick
4 large carrot, peeled and sliced about 1 inch thick
4 large celery, sliced about 1 inch thick
3 potatoes, peeled and quartered
3 sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced about 1 inch thick
1 box prunes
1 bag dried apricots
2 box raisins(optional)
2 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large oven-safe casserole dish
add all ingredients. Cover and bake in oven for 45 to 50 minutes or
until potatoes are soft. Check tzimmis periodically and add water(1/2
cup at a time), if dry. You may add or substitute your favorite
vegetable to the tzimmis.
