Default Bananaque

When I was in the Philippines a few years back, I used to indulge in
something the Filiponos called a "bananaque". This was a banana on a stick,
coated in a crisp caramel sugar glaze, with perhaps some other flavorings. I
have tried to find a recipe, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
