They just did that in one local school district here, and was Hell ever
raised about it.

I don't mind them taking such machines out of the elementary schools -
little kids don't need that stuff - but I'm completely sympathetic to the
high school kids. When you're in school 6 hours, have that much more in
homework every night, plus extra currics and jobs, sometimes you need
that extra caffeinated kick in the ass to get through the day.
