In general the answer is a resounding YES. Quality in wine kits is usually
tied to price. That does not mean you will not enjoy the cheaper kits.
Heck, you might even like them better so maybe you should try one. There
are some kits in the $75 to $90 range that I really like. And there are a
few that are in the high price range that I did not like as well. But if
you are just starting out, go for the high priced kit and you will be less
likely to be disappointed.
I will say that I am much more impressed with white wine kits than red,
though I like red wine and make it, just not from kits. But that is me.
