Default what concept makes you wanna puke? how about 'comfort food'?

i hate hate hate the concept or hype or whatever of 'comfort food'.

i'm sure it's nothing new but not until recently have i heard it
meantioned over and over and over on tv--cooking shows, news programs,
talkshows, etc.

are we turning into little babies? what with the family breakdown and
social fragmentation, are we seeking mama in food? from rich, yummy,
buttery, nurturing goo goo delights? feel stress? ahhh, wittle baby,
why don't you hug a baggypoo of potato chips and eat the whole thing?
troubled by tewwible news story? ga ga goo, why don't you pile your
bowl with ice cream and suckle on every spoonful.

for chrissakes, what is 'comfort food'? you mean junk or fattening or
sugary food? and, since when should grown adults be seeking comfort
from food? imagine john wayne being attacked by indians and going for
beef jerkies instead of killing the stupid savages. imagine humphrey
bogart as a detective in a noir film, stressed by the latest case,
losing control and regaining stability only thru creamy pasta and
cheese. pathetic!

of course, the food industry is also largely responsible for this
comfort food craze. how do you package and sell fattening and sugary
junk? why, just call it comfort food! yes, comfort foody is your
family, your friend, your religion. who needs friends, family, or the
bible when you got the crunchy, munchy, or creamy yumkins?

what kills me is americans are fat as hell. they eat and eat and grow
fatter. they look at themselves in the mirror and hate their fatassed
selves. they feel miserable so what do they do? they want comfort, and
what easier and more pleasurable reassurance than comfort food... which
only makes their arses larger and bellies wider.

gimme a break!
