I thought of y'all yesterday. Our neighborhood had its annual
yard sale yesterday and in the process of walking around, I saw
at least three households with multiple boxes of canning jars.
One woman was actually giving them away. I thought about buying
some and offering them here, but realized it would cost more to
ship than you could buy them for locally.

Almost w/o exception, these people all said "I used to can when
I had a garden, but gardening is too hard in this climate and
fruits and veg are too expensive, even at the farmers' markets."
In addition, "It's risky at this altitude."
