Chill, dude. Comfort food is food with which you associate some
pleasant nostalgic feeling ... like food your mom fed the family when
you were young - or sick - or when the family was poor - or whatever.
Food which has memories which you enjoy. That's all; nothing more.
It's not necessarily bad for you or fattening or anything else. For
example, a "confort food" for me is hot lemonade and soda crackers to
nibble when I have a terrible cold, because that's what my mom gave us
when I was little.

Find some other soapbox - this one isn't what you think it is.
