You compare the one endorsed by the Sierra group.

It doesn't compare the new Lexus, or Camry.

It does compare the Honda Civic.

But take your example "twit" as you say, and the compare the Honda Civic
models. The GREAT DIFFERENCE is 2 mpg, which is what is expected in
most of the other new hybrids. Hybrid technology is capable of much
more fuel efficient cars. That's not what is going to be built.

So genius, is 2 mpg a huge difference?
