You would do well to go to www.chowhound.com and check the Chicago board.
Lots of talk about Chicago metro area restos, especially the 'burbs....

Did you see Friday's _Tribune_? There was a good article about "diplomatic
dining", e.g. where Chicago - based diplomats go to dine for authentic home
cooking. Many of the places were in the suburbs....
