Is it? It says on their website "The American Red Cross may share
financial donor postal mailing lists with other non-profits for a
one-time use by the other non-profit." it also says "The American Red
Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers"

The Red Cross is non-profit in England, but like all charities here
they may sell some of their services or rise money as if they were a
business. Usually the core jobs of the large charities are paid posts
because without core work they cannot be there in times of need,
understandably this can be a contentious issue and off putting for
dedicated and talented volunteers.
