I don't think Ronni Lundy is too well known, but I enjoy her cookbooks
immensely. She has written mostly Southern cookbooks. Her recipes
and stories just remind me so much of home. She has one non-Southern
cookbook -- The Festive Table. It's about holiday food and rituals,
both traditional and newly created. It's very cheerful and
comforting. Maybe your library has her books available.
