The no email address thing is a very good idea. Even back in the
mid-90's when I started realy using Usent, my old email addy ended up
on a bunch of spammer CD's, obviously, and even way back then I was
forced to change my ID and email. These days, it would be absolute
murder to make that mistake. I set up an email account for my
daughter as one of our DSL sub-accounts. She never used it, but when
I went back a few weeks later to see if I still remembered the
password, it was FULL of obscene spam. The acct had never been used,
not even once. I wrote a nasty email to the provider accusing them of
selling off their own accounts, but all I got back was a form letter
wanting me to rate their customer service. The provider was SBC,
BTW.
