You don't need the egg. It can be prepared like rice, adding some oil to the
boiling water before putting in the buckwheat. Pay closer attention to it
until the boil reduces to a simmer, stirring so it doesn't stick. Once the
simmer level is reached, it won't stick any more than rice.
