Yep, straight from the fridge should retard any "nasties" and then let it
cook on low for the 8 hours. Should be fine; but you might want to add more
broth or water to it (not sure how thick your stew is). I sure hope your
flat mates enjoy it! (I'm thinking of slow-cooked stew for Monday, thanks
for the idea!)
