Default Sauces for Whole Wheat Pasta

i love it with mushrooms. I also have a big batch of pesto made with
walnuts, and am looking forward to trying it with whole wheat pasta.
Then I intend to try it with chicken livers, and I think some sort of
lamb thing could work, too. Or a ratatouille featuring lots of thyme
and/or rosemary and garlic. And roast veggies.
