Default Homemade Caramel Apples

Homemade Caramel Apples

Popsicle sticks
Apples (red delicious or for tart taste granny smith)
4 Tbsp. milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1 lb caramel loaf by preferred supplier
1 lb of milk chocolate
Assorted toppings of choice

Wash apples and remove stems. Line baking sheet with wax paper and insert
sticks into stem end of apple and set aside. In a pot combine the caramel
with 2 Tbsp. of milk and 1 Tbsp. of butter; over low heat stirring
frequently. Once melted should only take a couple of minutes reduce heat
to very low and dip each apple 3/4 of the way into caramel mixture,
letting any excess drip back into the pot. If desired dip into preferred
topping. Place on baking sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes. In a
separate pot melt the chocolate on very low heat until melted and stir in
remaining milk and butter. Dip the cooled apples halfway into chocolate,
letting excess drip back into the pot. Place back on lined cookie sheet
and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Remove from fridge and store in cool place
until ready to eat.
