Unsalted Butter Left Out. Is it Safe?

My AC is connected to my household furnace thermostat...when the temp of
the house reaches a pre-selected temperature (say 70F or 20C) it turns off
until the temperture rises. Just like my furnace comes on or goes off to
keep the house at a set temperature. These are not window AC units but a
part of the forced air heating and cooling system.
